Dodge County deputies arrest 3 in separate pursuits

Dodge County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in three separate pursuit incidents during the weekend resulting in three arrests.

At about 3:30 p.m. Saturday, deputies received reports of a reckless driver southbound on Highway 77. Deputies intercepted the vehicle and initiated a traffic stop north of Fremont. The driver failed to yield to the emergency vehicle and continued southbound.

After a short pursuit, with speeds only reaching 50 mph, the driver was apprehended and taken into custody in the 3000 Block of North Broad Street in Fremont. The driver, Kathleen Harlan, 50, of Lincoln was booked into the Dodge County holding facility on charges of driving during revocation, driving on the shoulder, driving under the influence of alcohol, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and possession of open alcohol container.

Deputies were assisted by the Oakland Police Department and the Fremont Police Department.

At about 12:40 a.m. Sunday, a dark-colored Chevy Impala fled from an attempted traffic stop by FPD. A short time later, the vehicle was spotted by Dodge County deputies who attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The driver fled into Washington County and was apprehended after a short pursuit with speeds reaching 80 mph on County Road 7.

The driver, Logan Thurm, 21, of Fremont was jailed on charges of driving during revocation — fourth offense, no proof of insurance, no proof of ownership, no valid registration, obstructing a peace officer, operating motor vehicle to avoid arrest, willful reckless driving and tampering with physical evidence. Thurm was also charged with various traffic offenses.

Dodge County Deputies were assisted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

At about 8:30 Sunday night, a Dodge County deputy attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 30 at approximately County Road 21, west of Fremont. The vehicle failed to yield to the emergency lights and fled westbound on Highway 30.

The driver continued westbound at a high rate of speed, reaching 90 mph at times. The vehicle eventually pulled into Rogers in Colfax County, and the driver fled on foot. Deputies requested additional resources to locate the driver. After an investigation, it was determined that the driver was Angel Agosto Idorwatt, 20, of Schuyler, and he was taken into custody.

Deputies were assisted by the Colfax County Sheriff’s Office, the Nebraska State Patrol, the Saunders County Sheriff’s Office drone team, and the Omaha Police Able-1 helicopter. Agosto Idorwatt was booked into the Dodge County holding facility for flight to avoid arrest – second offense, driving during revocation, willful reckless driving, obstructing a peace officer and multiple traffic offenses.
