John David Liston passed away on Dec. 11, 2023, at the age of 65. John is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton and Ruth Liston (Meier), brother, James Liston, and a son. He is survived by his children, Victoria & Matt Tomanek (Papillion), Valerie & Nick Prenzlow (Arlington), Adam & Mandi Liston (Fremont) and Alex & Brandy Liston (Elkhorn), his wife, Kathy Liston (Fremont), sister, Joan Licht (Hooper), stepson, Jason Hinds (Beumont, Texas) and grandchildren, Brenna & David Prenzlow, Ella, Lane, Kyla & Cal Tomanek, Brooks, August, & Scarlett Liston, Lilly & Clayton Liston and step granddaughter, Tristen Hinds.
John loved life and gave his life to mentoring and sharing his testimony with others. He was very involved serving God and others in his local church at Lifegate. He enjoyed his work in agricultural sales, getting the chance to talk to farmers and getting to know them. He loved being on the golf course and playing pickleball. He loved spending time with his wife and their two dogs and six horses. Most of all he loved his kids and chasing around his grandchildren.
Family will be available for visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N Somers Ave, Fremont, NE 68025 on Sunday, December 17, 2023.
Celebration of life service will be held following visitation Sunday, at 3 p.m. at Lifegate Church 2407 N Colorado Ave. in Fremont.
