HILLSBORO, Kan. – Midland University traveled to Hillsboro, Kansas to take on Tabor College in its final non-conference matchup of the season. The Warriors, who put a large number of shots up, were unable to come home with the victory as they fell to the Bluejays, 3-1.
Tabor took the early advantage with a goal in the 42nd minute and held the 1-0 lead heading into halftime. Midland dominated in shots 17-5 in the period, with the Bluejays able to save all seven shots on frame.
After the intermission, Tabor boosted their lead to 2-0 with a goal in the 48th minute. He collected the ball in the middle of the box and sent it soaring to the back of the net as the Warriors looked to climb back from the deficit.
Tabor tightened its defense though as they adverted each scoring chance for MU. In the 76th minute, the Bluejays tacked on an insurance goal and held on for the 3-1 win over the Warriors.
Midland outshot Tabor 33 to 17 for the match but was only able to get one of its 17 shots on target past the last line of defense.
Marco Moresco went the distance in goal. He clocked played the full 90 minutes, picking up seven saves on the night.
