Sue J. Sherrer, 89, of Fremont died Thursday, July 20, 2023, at Dunklau Gardens.

Sue was born Dec. 29, 1933, in West Virginia to Lawrence and Leah ‘Farley’ Mitchell. She was raised all over the country due to her father working in construction. She graduated from high school in Sedalia, Missouri. After high school she attended a women’s college in St. Joseph, Missouri. She then moved to New Jersey where she met and married William Struck in 1955. They divorced and she later married Madison Sherrer. Sue moved to Fremont in 2016 to be closer to her family. Sue was a member of the Daughter’s of the Nile and the Order of the Eastern Star both in Florida.

 

Survivors:

Daughter – Leah (life partner Bob Smeal) Springer of Scribner

Son – William (Salina) Struck of Hackettstown, New Jersey

Grandchildren – Jason (Jessica) Springer

Bonnie Brecher

Garett (Kimberly) Springer

Five great grandchildren

Brother – John Mitchell of Fremont

 

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Madison, parents, daughter Kathryn Struck and sister-in-law Marilyn Mitchell.

 

The memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Ludvigsen’s Scribner Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Scott Jensen will officiate. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to the family.
