Dale L. Hosch, 97, of South Sioux City passed away Monday, July 10, 2023, at Continental Springs in South Sioux. He was born June 10, 1926, in Fremont to Herman and Helen (Beard) Hosch.
Dale grew up in Fremont and graduated from high school. He serviced in the U.S. Army mostly in the Philippines from March 13, 1945, to January 18, 1947. Dale married Dorothy Schutt March 7, 1948 in Fremont. He worked at Hormel for 21 years and then Carlstrom Construction and Daubert Construction in Fremont retiring in 1991. In retirement Dale and Dorothy worked for Einspahr Construction for many years cleaning new homes and cleaning up remodeling jobs before turning them over to the owners.
He was a member Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City and former member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Fremont.
Dale is survived by daughter Cynthia “Cindy” (Rich) Quandt of South Sioux City, NE; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy in 2019; four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, July 14, 2023, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. The Rev. Michael Awe of Hope Lutheran Church in South Sioux City will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Friday. Interment with military honors conducted by the Fremont Honor Guard of VFW Post No. 854 and American Legion Post No. 20 will be at Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.
