Roselyn R. Kenkel, 90, of Fremont died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2023, at Methodist Fremont Health.

 

Roselyn was born Oct. 22, 1932, in Omaha to John and Rosa ‘Reese’ Stamp. She was raised on a farm near Yutan and graduated from Yutan High School in 1951. Roselyn worked in Fremont at the Phone Company and Hormel Foods, where she met Robert Jones. They were married in 1952 and together had two children Jeffrey and Jennifer. Roselyn and Robert later divorced. Roselyn then worked for Overland Products in Fremont. She married William N. Kenkel in 1978 and they lived in Omaha. While in Omaha she worked at the Tupperware warehouse and also in the high school lunch room. William died in 2011. To be closer to family, Roselyn moved to Nye Square in 2016 and last August to Providence Place both in Fremont .

 

Roselyn enjoyed being with family and hosting get togethers. She also loved to dance and was a part of several card playing groups. Roselyn and William also enjoyed going to live theater plays.

Bethany Haberer (Hatuff) Yamini of Aaman, Jorden

Daniel (Rachel) Judd of Wayne

Several other stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, step great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

 

Roselyn was preceded in death by her parents, husband William, son Jeffrey Dean Jones and sister Marjorie Lewis.

 

The funeral will be 2 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 16, 2023, at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in Hollst Lawn Cemetery in Yutan. Memorials are suggested to the World Wildlife Fund. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont.
