Authorities release name of victim in fatal crash

Authorities have released the name of a man killed in a Friday night crash west of Beemer.

Cuming County Sheriff Brad Boyum says 22-year-old Carlos Mora, of Wisner, died in the three-vehicle crash on Highway 275 late Friday.

According to Boyum, a Chrysler driven by Mora was traveling east when it reportedly crossed the center line and hit a westbound pickup head-on. A third vehicle, a pickup which was traveling eastbound, then struck the car.

Mora died at the scene, according to Boyum. The drivers of the pickups  were both injured, with the 16-year-old westbound driver being airlifted to Omaha and treated for critical injuries. The 28-year-old eastbound pickup driver was treated for minor injuries in at St. Francis Hospital in West Point.

According to Boyum, seatbelts were not in use.

The Nebraska State Patrol, Beemer Fire, and Rescue and Wisner Fire and Rescue responded to the crash.
