Shawn David Scott, 63, of Arlington, passed away on March 24, 2022, in Arlington. He was born June 9, 1958, in Fremont to Gail Robinson Scott and Delores Ann (Hartmann) Scott.
Shawn was previously employed by OPPD, in security at the Fort Calhoun Nuclear Power Plant.
Shawn grew up in North Bend and was a 1976 graduate of North Bend Central High School. On February 22, 1986, Shawn and Mary Kay Hovorka were united in marriage at St Patrick’s Catholic Church in Fremont. He is survived by Mary Kay of Arlington, their daughter Hayley, and Joe Kurcz (Omaha) and son, Jack Scott, of Pittsburgh and three sisters: Beth Scott, of Harlan, Iowa, Alice and Jim Colgan of Fremont and Ann Soukup (Charles) of Lincoln. He was also surrounded by many dear, steadfast friends who remained present throughout his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Wilson Scott and sister Beverly Wunderlich.
A Celebration of Life Service is planned for 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2022, at the North Bend Golf Course in North Bend.
The family suggests memorials be directed to the William G Lauer Foundation of Lincoln in support of ALS research and those currently living with ALS.
