Tigers win several events at Northeast Relays

Mattie Dalton of Fremont High School competes Thursday in the Lincoln Northeast Relays. Dalton helped the 1,600-meter sprint medley team to a first-place finish. Braden Taylor, below, was part of the Tigers’ winning 6,400-meter relay squad that set a meet record in 18:42.8.

The Fremont High School track teams won several events Thursday at the Lincoln Northeast Relays.
The FHS boys set a meet record in the 6,400-meter relay. The foursome of Juan Gonzalez, Nolan Miller, Braden Taylor and Carter Waters won in 18:42.8.
The distance medley relay team of Tyson Baker, Miller, Taylor and Waters finished first in 10:38.58 while the 3,200-meter team of Paulo Murrieta Torres, Wes Pleskac, Aaron Ladd and Caleb Sund claimed top honors in 8:34.53.
Fremont also won the 1,600-meter relay in 3:30.97. Micah Moore, Drew Sellon, Murrieta Torres and Baker comprised the foursome.
Sellon also won the pole vault by clearing 14-0.
The Fremont girls 800-meter sprint medley team of Ella Cooper, Emmalee Sheppard, Tania Gleason and Lucy Dillon won the gold in 1:54.37 while the foursome of Hayley Hanson, Elayna Sookram, Mattie Dalton and Elli Dahl won the 1,600-meter sprint relay in 4:27.73.
The 400-meter relay team of Cooper, Sydney Glause, Gleason and Sheppard took first in 51.56.
Hailey Newill won the pole vault by clearing 10-0 while teammate Mackenzie Kinning was first in the discus (38-1).
