The Fremont Girls and Boys Basketball teams played a doubleheader at Benson Saturday. The Girls game started at 1, and they certainly put on a show, winning 64 to 27. The Fremont girls outscored the bunnies, 30-8 in the second half. They were good from the free throw line, hitting 10 of 15. Senior Taylor McCabe led all scorers with 20 points. McKenna Murphy had 12 points. FHS Ladies are now 2-1.
The FHS boys fell to the Benson bunnies 56-43. Fremont’s Carter Sintek has 16 points. The Tigers struggled at the free throw line, hitting just 17 of 28. The boys are now 0-3.
Both teams head to Florida to play in the 2021 Basketball Classic in Kissimmee Florida. The Fremont Boys and Girls teams will play 3 games in Pool play, Thursday thru Saturday at the Gaylord Palms Resort Convention Center, in Kissimmee.
The Fremont Girls will play the Orange pool, with Kankakee High School, Illinois. Nixa High School from Missouri, and Ocean Springs High School of Mississippi.
The Schedule has the Fremont Girls vs. Nixa, Thursday at Noon. Fremont Girls vs. Ocean Springs, Friday morning at 10:30. Fremont Girls vs. Kankakee, Saturday at Noon. The Fremont Boys will play in the Blue Bracket, Thursday morning at 10:30am. Mountain Brook High School of Alabama at Noon, Friday. Cooper Hills High School of Utah at 9:30 am on Saturday.
