The Bergan Girls and Boys traveled to David City Saturday afternoon, taking on Aquinas Catholic. The Bergan Girls move to 4-0, with the victory. The Lady Knights would take a 26 to 14 lead into the halftime break, and they would then extend that lead even farther in the third quarter, outscoring Aquinas 20 to 4, and then coast home to victory, 57 to 23. Caitlin Mlnarik led all scorers with 17. Madison Mendlik had 11 points. The Bergan Ladies are now 4-0,David City Aquinas, 0-4.
The Bergan Boys game was a little bit closer. At the half, Aquinas led 28-25. The Monarchs hit 6 three pointers in the 1st half, and made it 40-40 after 3 quarters. Bergan out scored Aquinas 16 to 7 in the fourth quarter and would come away with a 56-47 victory. Sam Sleister led the Knights with 12 points, Max Nosal had 9. The Bergan boys are now 2-1. Aquinas Boys now 1-3. The Bergan girls and boys teams will be back in action on Friday night as they travel south to Lourdes Central Catholic. Chris Whitney will have the Live Action.
