Marcella C. Prokop, 101 years, of Fremont, NE died November 10, 2021 at Nye Legacy in Fremont. Marcella was born April 18, 1920 in Clarkson, NE to Henry and Christine (Podany) Janda. She grew up in Clarkson and was a graduate of Clarkson High School. She married Anton J. Prokop on April 23, 1942 in Clarkson. The couple lived at Leigh, NE and moved to Dodge, NE in 1951. They owned and operated a hatchery. In 1966 they moved to Fremont. Anton passed away December 10, 1970.
Marcella was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and St. Patrick Women. She previously worked at the Phillips Department Store at the Fremont Mall and at Food 4 Less.
She is survived by son, Ronald Prokop of Cave Creek, AZ; daughter-in-law, Elaine Prokop of Lansing, KS; 2 grandchildren, Zachary and Jared Prokop; 3 great grandchildren, Lyla, Vivian, and Emmy; and a niece, Mary Prokop.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Myron; sister, Loretta Brodecky and nephew, Mike Prokop.
Memorial service will be 11:00 AM, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Rosary will start one hour prior to the service at the Funeral Home.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Fremont.
