Fremont Public Schools provided an update on its COVID-19 numbers Friday afternoon.
There were 12 students not in school Friday due to a positive COVID-19 test. There were 54 not in school due to quarantine for exposure. There were 158 absent for any illness.
Only one employee was absent due to a COVID-19 test. There were two not working due to quarantine for exposure. There were 50 certified teaching staff not at work for any reason.
The current number of students and staff out of school due to a positive test represents less than 1% of the student body and staff.
Officials will continue to monitor the situation.
The Three Rivers Public Health Department has reinstituted free community testing. The times available are 8 to 11 a.m. on Mondays and 3 to 6 p.m. on Fridays. Testing is located at 210 E. Military Ave., across from the downtown Runza location.
