The Fremont Tigers ran at the UNK XCC Invitational, Monday, at the Kearney Country Club. The Fremont boys finished first with 36 points. Lincoln East was second with 87. Carter Waters finished third, for Fremont, is 16:30. In girls action, Fremont finished third with 98 points. Lincoln East was first with 58. Ellie Dahl of Fremont was first in 18:51.2.
In boys high school tennis yesterday, Norfolk defeated Fremont, 9-0, at Norfolk High School.
The Bergan girls golf team defeated Oakland-Craig, in a dual at the Oakland Golf Course, 223-247. Jocelyn Kumm of Bergan was the meet medalist, shooting a 48.
Round one of the 2021-22 GPAC Men’s Golf Championships is complete in Elkhorn, Nebraska, at Indian Creek.
Morningside is the team leader after round one with a 278 (-10), while Midland is second with a 290 (+2) and Northwestern is third with a 297 (+9).
Ryan Rogers from Midland and Sam Storey from Morningside are the clubhouse leaders at -4 after rounds of 68 on Monday. Mason Weeks from Morningside is third with 69 (-3). Defending champion Jonny Douglas from Morningside and Brock Murphy from Northwestern are tied at fourth at 70 (-2). Ivan Yabut from Concordia and Xan Milligan from Morningside are tied for sixth at -1 after rounds of 71.
Round two will tee off at 10am on Tuesday morning on split tees.
