The Fremont Fire Department responded to a house fire at about 6:43 this morning at 312 E. 8th St.
Fire Chief Todd Bernt said no one was injured, but some family pets died as a result of the fire.
“We called the state fire marshal office this morning,” Bernt said. “It was an electrical cord to an AC unit. There was heavy smoke upon our arrival. We had it under control within 15 or 20 minutes.”
Bernt said there is an unknown dollar loss at this time.
