The First State Bank American Legion Seniors baseball team began competition in the Veteran’s Classic, in Rapid City, South Dakota, Thursday. First State went 2-0, with a 19-1 win over Mitchell, South Dakota and a 9-6 victory over Gillette, Wyoming. Versus Mitchell, Landon Mueller earned the win, striking out eight. Dawson Glause had three hits, with a double and two rbi’s. Versus Gillette, Glause picked up the win on the mound, working five innings, and striking out six. Brady Benson earned the save. Cal Janke had three hits; a double, triple and home run, while knocking in four. First State is 3-0 on the season and plays the Rapid City Shooters at 11am, today.
The First State Bank Juniors defeated Gretna, 12-2, last night, at Novak Field. The Juniors are 2-0 on the season.
The First State Bank Reserves are 1-0 on the year, after a win over the Millard Sox, earlier in the week. The Reserves play in the Elkhorn Tournament, this weekend.
