A volleyball tournament that raises funds and awareness in the fight against breast cancer is back this year after a one-year hiatus.
The Beat Breast Cancer Mud Volleyball Tournament is scheduled for July 10 in Prague. The event, which was canceled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, is in its 12th year.
Pink Bandana, Inc., a non-profit organization, will host the event. Pink Bandana is designed to raise support and awareness for women, ages 40-and-under in Nebraska, who are battling breast cancer. The tournament will be played on eight separate mud volleyball courts.
During the past 13 years, Pink Bandana has donated more than $330,000 to families in need through funds raised via the tournament and other events.
Registration for the event began at Tuesday night. The cost for each team is $180. The tournament is limited to 192 teams.
Nick Potter, Pink Bandana board chairman, said in a press release that attendees can expect a few changes to this year’s event, but they can also expect an incredible time while supporting a great cause.
