The Fremont Fire Department responded to a call at 2:05 Saturday afternoon at a residence in the 2100 block of East Military Avenue.
Fire chief Todd Bernt said the estimated loss is about $150,000.
“We had it under control at about 2:30 p.m.,” he said. “It started on the back porch and extended into the house and attic.”
Bernt said authorities are still probing the cause. No injuries were reported.
“We had the state fire marshal’s fire investigator respond,” he said. “It is still under investigation. The fire marshal showed up at the scene at about 5:20 in the afternoon and the cause is undetermined at this time.”
The department also responded to a call at Lincoln Premium Poultry at about 2:45 p.m.
“The call came in as a grease fire,” Bernt said. “It sounds like some workers were welding on a pipe and it had some fat and grease in it. It started within the piping.”
Bernt said there were no injuries or significant damage from the LPP fire.
