Huskers win Over Rutgers; Creighton Prepares for Villanova

FREMONT – College basketball is getting closer to tournament season – Creighton is No 2 in the Big East and the Huskers are No 14 in the Big Ten:

Huskers

Behind a career-high 25 points from Lat Mayen, Nebraska put together its most complete effort of the season in a 72-51 win over Rutgers Monday night at Pinnacle Bank Arena.
Mayen scorched the nets, hitting 9-fo-11 from the field, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, as Nebraska led wire to wire. He had 20 of his points in the first half, as the Huskers raced out to a 43-25 cushion.
The Huskers close the regular season on the road, next meeting No. 5 Iowa in Iowa City on Thursday. Tip is set for 8 p.m. (CT).

Creighton

No. 14 Creighton (17-6, 13-5 BIG EAST) plays its final road game of the regular-season when it visits #10 Villanova (15-4, 10-3 BIG EAST) on Wednesday, March 3rd.
The two teams, who were picked atop the preseason BIG EAST poll, both control their own destiny in pursuit of the regular-season title.
Tip-off at Finneran Pavilion in  Villanova, Pa., is set for 7:30 p.m. Central.
