Regional Experts Join Northeast Nebraska Behavioral Health Network Board of Directors

Northeast Nebraska Behavioral Health Network (NNBHN) is pleased to announce and welcome three new members to its Board of Directors.
“We are very excited to have these new board members join us,” explained Cody Dickson, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, Board Chair, “They bring expertise and experience that will enhance our ability to meet our goal of expanding the behavioral health workforce in northeast and northcentral Nebraska.”
Annette Dubas is the Executive Director of the Nebraska Association of Behavioral Health Organizations. She brings connections to nearly 50 organizations providing behavioral and mental health services across the State. Dubas also brings connections to regional, state, and national organizations all working to enhance the work of behavioral health professionals with a focus on expanding the behavioral health workforce.
Mary Ann Anderson, RN, MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC works as a Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner at Oasis Counseling in Norfolk, and as faculty at UNMC North – College of Nursing. With extensive local, regional, and national involvement in the behavioral health field, she represents the psychiatric nursing field on the board.
Anderson’s work as faculty at UNMC-North College of Nursing demonstrates her commitment to workforce
development in the nursing and the behavioral health field.
Nicholas Shudak, Ph.D. is Dean of the School of Education & Counseling at Wayne State College. He brings a
regional perspective of post-secondary academic institutions and a strong commitment to workforce development in rural northeast and northcentral Nebraska. Dr. Shudak brings over 15 years of experience and leadership in education across multiple levels. WSC offers bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in the Behavioral Health field with a commitment to excellence.
A group of 30 plus regional stakeholders committed to expanding the behavioral healthcare workforce developed the Northeast Nebraska Behavioral Health Network. NNBHN is home to STARS (Students Training at Rural Sites) which works to connect behavioral health students with regional and local employers; STARS also works to recruit behavioral health professionals to its 24-county service area.
