FREMONT – Here’s a look at the latest in local sports, from the desk of Rich Ray:
Huskers
Due to the COVID cancellation of the Purdue-Indiana football game on Friday evening, Nebraska’s game at Rutgers has been moved to 6:30 PM (CT) on Friday. The game was originally scheduled for 3 PM. Friday’s game will still be broadcast on Mix 105.5, FM, with the Husker Sports Network coverage beginning at 1:30pm.
Midland
Midland University faced off against Concordia University for the second time this season on Tuesday night in Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) action. The lady Warriors fell to the Bulldogs, 67-59. The men’s contest was a high scoring event, with both teams shooting over 53% from the field. Ultimately, the Warriors fell to the Bulldogs, 95-81.
High School Sports
In high school wrestling last night in Clarkson, Bergan competed in a quad. The Knights lost to Howells-Dodge, 36-24. Logan View beat Bergan, 66-6 and Clarkson-Leigh downed the Knights 42-30.
The Blair wrestling team competed in a triangular at Wahoo last night. Blair beat Wahoo 68-6 and the Bears downed Nebraska City, 41-28.
The Blair High boys basketball team played at Schuyler last night. The Blair Bears won by a score of 44-32.
