The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating four crashes that occurred Friday.

At about 10 a.m., a personal injury crash was reported at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 79, approx. one mile north of North Bend. Through the preliminary investigation it was determined that a 2017 White GMC Pickup was eastbound on Highway 30 at a high rate of speed. The driver then attempted to take the turn lane onto Highway 79, however continued east hitting a raised median. The vehicle then traveled east into the ditch hitting an embankment.

The driver, Erick Chic Ramirez, 24, of Fremont was transported by North Bend Rescue to Methodist Fremont Health in serious condition. It was determined that a seatbelt was not in use, and airbags did deploy. Alcohol and speed are being investigated as contributing factors.

At noon Friday, deputies responded to a property damage crash on County Road 17 just west of County Road R, northwest of Fremont. The driver of the vehicle was not present when deputies arrived on scene. The investigation revealed that a Hyundai Accent was eastbound on County Road 17 when the driver lost control and veered into the north ditch. The driver was later located and no injuries were reported.

At 12:51 Friday afternoon, deputies responded to reports of a two-vehicle personal injury crash on Highway 77 and Highway 30, one mile north of Fremont.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a black 2018 Dodge Journey driven by Bailey Carroll, 28, of Fremont
was westbound on the exit ramp of Highway 30 at Highway 77. Carroll attempted to turn south onto Highway 77 and struck a red 2021 Cadillac XT6 driven by Wissanee Logemann, 44, of Bancroft.

The driver of the Dodge Journey along with the passenger and two juveniles were transported from the scene to
Methodist Fremont Health. The driver and two juveniles had minor injuries, while the passenger had serious
injuries. The driver of the Cadillac was transported to the hospital in a private vehicle with minor injuries.

Highway 77 had traffic restrictions for about two hours. Seatbelts were in use by all passengers in both vehicles, air bags deployed in both vehicles.

At about 1:52 Friday afternoon, deputies responded to a personal injury crash at Main Street and 11th Street in North Bend.

The preliminary investigation revealed that Holly Colburn, 63, of Doniphan was driving a 2007 Dodge Durango when she failed to negotiate the curve and struck several mailboxes, coming to rest at a utility pole. She was transported by North Bend Rescue with injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by North Bend Fire Department, Nebraska Game and Parks
