Michael J. “Skippy” Thurman, 56, of North Bend passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025 at CHI Bergan Mercy in Omaha.
Skippy was born on November 2, 1969 to Leonard and Jo Ann (Haase) Thurman in Sioux City, Iowa. On August 28, 1992, he married Michelle Peltz. The couple resided in North Bend. Over the years, Skippy worked for Tech Partners, Boilermakers Local 83, Transwood Logistics, and later owned and operated his trucking business, Busyman Express.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leaonard Arthur Thurman.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Michelle; children, Samantha Thurman and Dillon Thurman; sister, Jessica Hawkins; and grandchildren, Mariah Mae Jackson and Oakley Carter Thurman.
A Celebration of Life Gathering is set for11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Isaak Walton in Fremont.
