SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), along with presenting sponsor Hauff Mid-America Sports, has announced its softball player and pitcher of the week for contests played March 2-8, 2026. Sydney Atkins of Midland University was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week, while Amber Dougherty of Morningside University earned player of the week honors.
Atkins, a freshman from Gretna, Nebraska, picked up her first win as a Warrior this past week. She threw a complete-game, five-inning shutout against Sterling. In the circle, she had three strikeouts while scattering five hits and one walk.
