SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), alongside presenting sponsor Hauff Mid-America Sports, has announced its softball player and pitcher of the week for contests played February 16-22, 2026. Mackenzie Groninga of Midland University was named the GPAC Pitcher of the Week, while Allison Koontz of Northwestern College earned player of the week honors.
Groninga, a sophomore from Blair, Nebraska, won both of her outings last week. She tallied 22 strikeouts over 16.0 innings (9.63 k/7) while allowing seven hits and three earned runs. Her ERA for the week was 1.31 with two complete games.
