Each year the Nebraska Main Street Network awards Inspiring Excellence Awards.

This program is to recognize outstanding businesses, individuals, projects, and activities that contribute to the economic and social vibrancy of downtown business districts in communities throughout the state.

These awards highlight the hard work happening in Main Street communities across the state. Local programs (such as MainStreet of Fremont), businesses and volunteers are dedicated to continuing to grow and support their downtowns. The comprehensive Main Street Approach has been utilized for our 40-years nationwide, encouraging community
building through economic development and preservation of community culture.

MainStreet of Fremont received five awards and one honorable mention. In a news release, MainStreet Executive Director Lainey Paquette said the organization is grateful for the continued support it has received through sponsorships, donations and volunteer time.

In the Inspiring Excellence Awards, Sam Heineman received the top honor for Volunteer of the Year. Cindi Serrano earned honorable mention.

The top honor for Business of the Year went to Krasne Home Furnishings while Fremont & Dodge County Conventions & Visitors Bureau earned the top honor for Outstanding Public Partner.
