The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident that occurred Sunday night.
At about 11:18 p.m., the DCSO was dispatched to the roundabout located on Highway 77 south of Fremont for a one-vehicle roll over crash. It was reported that the vehicle involved was blocking the southbound lanes.
Upon arrival, deputies were initially unable to locate the driver of the vehicle involved. Utilizing a drone, the driver was later located and identified as Michael Stolley, 20, of Fremont.
Deputies determined that a black 2015 Dodge Ram traveling northbound on Highway 77 was negotiating a curve, approaching the roundabout. The vehicle proceeded off the roadway to the left, where it struck two road signs. It then rolled over the median and came to a rest on its driver’s side in the southbound lanes. The investigation revealed that seat belts were not in use and alcohol may have been a factor.
The DCSO was assisted by the Fremont Police Department and Fremont Rural Fire Department.
