
The Fremont Rural Fire Department and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office responded Friday morning to a fire in the 4000 block of North Somers Avenue.
The call came in at about 1:41 a.m. Upon arrival, an active fire was observed on the south side of the single-story residence which eventually reached the roof. The four residents inside were able to exit without injury.
The Fremont Fire Department was called to the scene to assist. The fire was battled for several hours before it was controlled. The state fire marshal was called to the scene. The cause of the fire is currently undetermined pending further investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office and the DCSO.
