Friday night crash kills one, injures five

The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a crash near Scribner Friday night that claimed the life of one person and injured five others.

According to the DCSO, the accident occurred at about 9:15 p.m. at the intersection of Highways 275 and 91, about two miles north of Scribner.

The preliminary investigation indicates that a Subaru was heading east on Highway 91 when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Highway 275. The Subaru then struck a Buick heading south, and both vehicles then hit a Chevrolet Silverado.

The driver of the Subaru was transported to the Methodist Fremont Health and later died from their injuries. The Subaru also had another adult passenger, and three additional juvenile passengers, all of which were also taken to area hospitals.

The driver of the Buick was hospitalized with minor injuries, and the occupants of the Chevrolet were uninjured.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, Scribner Police Department, Hooper Police Department, Scribner Fire Department, Snyder Fire Department, West Point Fire Department and Fremont Police Department.
