Written by Qui Nguyen, She Kills Monsters is a play about loss, self-discovery, and connection. An average girl, Agnes Evans, discovers the game of Dungeons & Dragons after tragically losing both her parents and sister. Through the game, she tries to get a better understanding of her sister, Tilly, and the way she viewed the world, all while fighting monsters and facing dangerous challenges along the way.
Amanda Overfield, Arts Coordinator, will serve as director with Zachary Ottemann the assistant director.
“A lot of people think about “She Kills Monsters”as “the D&D show.” While D&D is an integral part of the storytelling, we wanted to really focus on the truths of it instead,” Overfield said. “We wanted to showcase Agnes finding her way through her grief journey and letting go of the guilt she carried, but while still holding on to the dark humor, bawdy jokes, and 90’s pop culture/D&D references that make this show so loved.”
