Jeremy R. Dougherty 47 of Fremont passed away Monday, January 26, 2026, in Fremont. He was born April 19, 1978 in Mount Holly, New Jersey, to Ernie and Mary (Franke) Dougherty.
Jeremy was raised in New Jersey, Topeka, Kansas and then came to Fremont in the late 1980s. He graduated high school in 1995. He married Katie (Manning) Dougherty on January 3, 2025.
Jeremy loved riding his Harley, collecting model trains and coaching softball. He excelled in audio design and performance. He owned Stereo West Home Theater in Omaha. Jeremy also enjoyed building and fixing anything with his hands.
Survived by his wife, Katie; daughter, Taylor Dougherty and step-daughter, Halle Dougherty all of Fremont; mother, Mary (Kenneth) Novotny of Fremont; father, Ernie Dougherty of the U.S. Virgin Islands; sister, Jamie Kurtz (Gordon) of Blair; parents-in-law, Mike & Robin Manning of Ames; brother-in-law, Nick (Kori) Manning of North Bend; aunt, Judy Rippy and uncle, Jerry (Peggy) Franke all of Fremont; and granddog, Maverick.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his grandparents.
Funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, January 30, 2026, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Chaplain Scott Jensen will officiate. Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday and continue on Friday one hour prior to the service also at Moser’s.
Interment will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
