William Lynn Baylis Rouse, known as Lynn or Washington, 77, of Craig passed away Wednesday, January 21, 2026 near Uehling, NE in a tragic auto accident. Lynn was born July 8, 1948 in Oakland to John and Leona (Silvey) Rouse.
Lynn was the third child out of a family of nine children. He grew up in Craig and graduated from Craig High School in 1968. He was a Craig person through and through and was proud to be from there.
Lynn “Washington” loved motorcycles, the biker lifestyle, and the freedom that went with it. Starting in the early 1970s he would make his annual ride to the Sturgis Bike Rally in South Dakota. He enjoyed riding with his friends, talking motorcycles, and fixing motorcycles, most recently a bike with his grandson.
He met and married Susan Moseman Jensen and with that came an instant family with Krisa and Scott. Lynn and Sue would later divorce, but that never stopped ‘Wash’ from being their Dad and later ‘Grandpa Wash’ to the grandkids and great grandkids.
Lynn was a hard worker and joined the workforce directly out of high school. He worked for IBP in West Point, Tyson in West Point, Gustafson Plumbing in Craig, and finally retiring from Helena in Oakland.
Besides working and riding his motorcycles, he enjoyed taking his grandkids fishing and showing them how to skin a deer. He had a love of animals, a passion for gardening, and was an excellent cook. Wash and Krisa spent time every year canning their salsa and jams and planning & preparing the family holiday meals. Wash loved his family, spending time with them and was always front and center in their lives.
Preceding him in death were his parents, John and Leona Rouse; siblings, Aloma Forsberg, Lloyd Rouse, Debra Rouse; sister-in-law, Betty Rouse; nephews; Dennis Rouse and Jerry Lee Swanson.
He is survived by daughter, Krisa (Darin) Brown of rural Craig; son, Scott Jensen of Sarasota, Florida; grandchildren; Joe (Burgandy) Brown, Jack (Amy) Brown, Dr. Katelyn Brown, Erin Jensen; great grandsons, Wade and Thomas Brown; and bonus grandchildren; Roger and Noella Wright; siblings, Lee (Linda) Rouse, Anetta (Jerry) Swanson, LaRita Johnson, Brad (Martha) Rouse, Candice (Roger) Fehrer, brother-in-law, Howard Forsberg and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be planned for a March date. Online condolences may be left at www.mosermemorialchapels.com.
