SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its 2026 Preseason Coaches’ Poll. Concordia University is the preseason coaches’ selection to win the 2026 GPAC Baseball Championship, while Midland University was selected sixth in the poll by the conference’s coaches.
The Warriors, who finished fifth a year ago, are set to open their season next week. Midland will travel to Texas to face Our Lady of the Lake University on Friday, February 6, and Saturday, February 7 in San Antonio. Those are the first of 20 nonconference road games to begin the year. Midland’s home opener is scheduled for Friday, March 13, when they’ll face Dordt in a conference doubleheader.
The GPAC Postseason Tournament will feature two four-team tournaments (Seeds 1,4,5,8 and Seeds 2,3,6,7) (double elimination) on April 29 – May 1 at the sites of the top two seeds. Then the two tournament winners will play on Monday, May 4, in the GPAC Championship (one nine-inning game) at the highest remaining seed.
