Owen S. Picton, 88, of Blair died Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Owen was born December 29, 1936, in Falls City to Samuel and Martha ‘Roesch’ Picton. He was raised in Falls City and graduated from Falls City High School. After high school he attended Midland Lutheran College. He met Dianne Schrader at Midland and they married May 26, 1963 in Bloomfield,. Owen worked for Mutual of Omaha and after retiring he supported his wife, Rev. Dianne Picton as she served several churches in the area until she passed away in 2002. Owen married Lila Jenkins in 2004 and she passed away in 2013. Owen had a curious mind and lifelong interest in technology and science. He also enjoyed traveling, traversing the world, and meeting new people. Most of all, Owen loved being with his family.

Sons – David (Cindy) Picton of Blair

Stephen (Kelly) Picton of Brookfield, Illinois

Grandchildren – Zachary, Anna, Martha, Kathryn and Paul Picton

Sisters – Mary Syre’ of Council Bluffs, Iowa

Dorothy (Allan) Tubach of Omaha

Brother-in-law – Dennis (Peggy) Schrader

Lila’s children – Corey (Sarah) Jenkins and Suzanne Jenkins

Owen was preceded in death by his wives Rev. Dianne and Rev. Lila.

The funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Christ Lutheran Church in Blair. Visitation will be Saturday, one hour before the service at church. Burial will be in the St. John’s County Line Cemetery north of Scribner.

Memorials are suggested to Christ Lutheran Church in Blair.
