
Mae Carolyn “Kay” Bopp, 93, of Whitehouse, Texas, formerly of Hooper, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, at the Hospice of East Texas in Tyler, Texas, after only a week of being admitted.
Kay was born December 24, 1931 in Marshall, Texas, to Morris and Lillian (French) Campbell. They moved to Hooper in 1947 at she graduated from Hooper High School. Kay married Marlin L. Bopp June 11, 1950 in Hooper. They lived in Alaska, Omaha and Houston, Texas. After Marlin retired, they lived in Colorado for 10 years and returned to Texas. They came to Fremont in 2001. Marlin passed away July 11, 2003 and Kay soon moved to St. Louis, Missouri, and to Whitehouse, Texas, in 2017 to be closer to her family.
Kay was a godly woman and was involved in the Christian Women’s Club for many years and was very involved in the churches she attended throughout her life.
She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Lynn Bopp of Tyler, Texas, and Susan Kay (Gary) Pike of Whitehouse, Texas; son, Clarence Allan (Billie) Bopp of Bulter, Missouri; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Kay was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marlin; and two brothers, Kenneth and Morris “Butch” Campbell.
Memorial Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, December 6, 2025, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Family will receive friends from 9-10 a.m. prior to the service on Saturday.
