FREMONT, Neb. — Midland University had eight student-athletes earn recognition as the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) announced its 2025 Football All-Conference Teams. The Warriors were represented across offense, defense, and special teams, highlighted by senior Tyson Denkert, who earned honors at three positions.
Denkert was named First Team All-GPAC at running back following a dominant season in which he rushed for 945 yards, averaged 85.9 yards per game, and scored seven touchdowns while setting the school record for career rushing yards. He added 253 receiving yards, 149 punt-return yards, and 303 kick-return yards, finishing with 1,650 all-purpose yards — the most on the team. Denkert also earned Second Team honors as a punt returner after averaging 9.3 yards per return, and he received honorable mention recognition as a kick returner.
Quarterback Brodey Johnson earned Second Team All-GPAC honors after leading a high-powered Midland offense. The junior threw for 2,133 yards, completed 58.3% of his passes, and ranked among the league’s top passers with 27 touchdowns and just five interceptions. He averaged 193.9 passing yards per game while guiding the Warriors to a 6-4 conference record.
Wide receiver TJ Covington joined Johnson on the All-GPAC Second Team as Midland’s top receiving threat. Covington caught 41 passes for 601 yards and a team-high nine touchdowns, averaging 14.7 yards per catch and 54.6 yards per game.
Midland’s defense also earned strong recognition with three All-GPAC Second Team selections. Linebacker Jay Ballard anchored the unit with a team-best 64 total tackles, including 6.0 tackles for loss. Defensive backs Brandon Lance and Zayne Wilson each earned Second Team honors after ranking among the league’s most productive ballhawks. Lance recorded 59 tackles, five pass breakups, and three interceptions, returning one for a touchdown. Wilson finished with 46 tackles, five interceptions, and two fumble recoveries.
On special teams, junior Gavin Rohewal was named to the All-GPAC Second Team at punter. He posted 44 punts for 1,687 yards, averaging 38.3 yards per punt with 14 downed inside the 20 and six traveling 50 yards or more, including a long of 64 yards.
Rounding out Midland’s honorees, wide receiver Tae Marks received an honorable mention distinction. Marks was a dynamic big-play option throughout the season, catching 32 passes for 519 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 16.2 yards per reception.
The Warriors finished the 2025 campaign with a 6-5 overall record and a 6-4 mark in GPAC play, marking the 10th straight winning season under head coach Jeff Jamrog.
