Gerald Stover, 85, of Fremont died Friday, November 14, 2025 at home.

Gerald was born September 14, 1940 in rural Dodge County to Adolf and Emma ‘Havekost’ Stover. He was raised on the home place east of Uehling and graduated from Uehling High School. After high school, he farmed with his dad and two brothers and also served in the Nebraska Air National Guard. He married Janis Ruwe on May 2, 1965. They lived together on their farm southeast of Uehling for 60 years before recently moving into Fremont. They raised four children on the farm. In addition to farming, he worked for Alfred Egbers.

Gerald was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Uehling and was involved in many aspects of the rural church life. He was an avid sports fan but cheered the loudest for his St. Louis Cardinals. His biggest love was attending all of his grandchildren’s many activities.
