FREMONT, Neb. — Midland University hosted Northwestern College for a Great Plains Athletic Conference matchup on Senior Night on Saturday. The Warriors fell 3-0 to the Red Raiders.
NaTaija Blaylock, Addison Castellanos, Kay Hopfensperger, and Sara Diew were the four seniors honored before the game.
Northwestern got on the board first in the 25th minute to take a 1-0 lead into halftime. Midland had the edge in shot attempts in the first 45 minutes, 7-5, with both teams putting three shots on goal.
After the break, the Red Raiders scored back-to-back goals in the 83rd and 84th minutes to seal the 3-0 win over Midland.
Midland finished with a 14-10 advantage in total shots, while Northwestern had more shots on goal, 8-6.
Skyler Cooley played the first 45 minutes in goal and recorded three saves. Julia Sweeneytook over in the second half and added two saves.
Midland (2-13-1, 1-9 GPAC) will close out the regular season at home against Hastings College on Wednesday, Oct. 29, at 7:30 p.m.
