The Fremont Family YMCA has announced the Member Services Growth Project, a series of upgrades designed to strengthen community connection, enhance member experience, and provide flexible spaces for families and individuals of all ages.
As part of this project, the YMCA is partnering with RVR Bank to update Sidner Courts 2 and 3, which will be renamed the RVR Bank Event Courts. Improvements include a projector and screen for watch parties, additional seating and viewing areas for events, enhanced lighting for multi-sport use and multipurpose features for roller skating and other programs.

The YMCA is also partnering with FNBO, sponsor of the Community Room. The current vending area will be transformed into a flexible space for meetings, rentals, and community services, featuring modular furniture and audio-visual equipment.

The YMCA announced that two anonymous gifts and a grant received from the Rupert Dunklau Foundation that will help fund the remainder of the project.
“We recognize the importance of the role Fremont Family YMCA has in our community,” said Kari Ridder, executive director of the foundation. “It is our sincere hope that this grant will provide great momentum to the project and to the upward trajectory of
the YMCA.”
CEO Tim Benson said that the YMCA’s facilities are vital hubs for connection, growth and well-being.
“Through this initiative, we are modernizing our spaces to foster belonging, promote active lifestyles, and help people of all ages thrive,” he said.
In addition, the Member Services Growth Project will also include the following
enhancements:
• Creation of an indoor activity and play space in Sidner Court #1
• Men’s and Women’s Locker Room Refresh
• Additional family restrooms added near RVR Bank Event Courts
• Updates to the Underground including food service
• Building Signage and Wayfinding Refresh
• New lighting improvements throughout the facility (Fremont Electric in kind donation)
Y officials said they look forward to welcoming members and the community into these newly transformed spaces as the project progresses. Estimated start date is late fall 2025.
