The Fremont Area Community Foundation has welcomed four new members to its Board of Directors: Lesley Chavez, Matthew Richardson, Matt Taylor, and Timothy Wobken.
“We are blessed to have a Board of Directors that is committed to the work and growth of our organization,” Foundation Executive Director Melissa Diers said. “And I’m confident that these four individuals will be a wonderful addition to this group.”
Lesley Chavez is a Fremont native. She and her husband, Beto, own and manage Lakeshore Marina and Lakehouse Restaurant, which is located at the Fremont State Lakes. Her entrepreneurial spirit was instilled in her by her parents, who established the first Hispanic grocery store in Fremont back in 1998.
Chavez helped run the family business until she pursued higher education and started her own family. Before venturing into business ownership, she had a successful career as a financial advisor. Chavez also serves as a board member of the Fremont Area Chamber of Commerce and chair of the chamber’s Hispanic Council. She holds a degree in International Business from Nebraska Wesleyan University.
Richardson
Matthew Richardson is a Financial Advisor at FNBO-First Investments & Planning in Fremont. Previously, he worked for nearly a decade at TD Ameritrade/Charles Schwab, most recently as Vice President and Financial Advisor.
He prioritizes building meaningful relationships with his clients, taking time to understand their unique situations and goals. Richardson earned his Bachelor of Arts from Knox College in Galesburg, Illinois, and holds the Series 7, 63 and 65 securities registrations as well as licenses for Life, Annuities, Sickness, Accident, and Health insurance.
Committed to giving back to his community, he also serves on the board of Care Corps’ LifeHouse and is an active member of Fremont Evangelical Free Church.
Taylor
Matt Taylor has been serving as the President of Fremont Beef Company since the start of 2023 and has worked in the plant management for many years. He grew up on a farm near Nickerson and lives with his wife and kids in Fremont. He serves on the boards of the Greater Fremont Development Council and Fremont Public Schools Foundation, and he’s a member of the Fremont Rotary Club.
Wobken
Timothy Wobken has worked at Scribner Bank since 2006 and is currently Vice President and Ag Representative. Prior to that, he was employed at Sid Dillon Chevrolet from 1991-2006. He graduated from Wayne State College. Tim is a lifelong Scribner resident and very active in the community. He’s a member of the Scribner Chamber of Commerce and St. John’s Lutheran Church. His wife, Roni, is principal of ESU 2 Independent School in Fremont.
