City of Blair launches redesigned website

city-of-blair

The City of Blair has announced the launch of its newly redesigned website at www.BlairNE.gov, the official website of the City of Blair.

This update introduces a clean layout, improved navigation, and marks Blair’s transition to the .gov domain, the trusted standard for U.S. government organizations.

The redesigned website was built with Blair residents in mind. The new look features Blair Community School District colors, local photography showcasing landmarks and people throughout town, and a design centered on ease of use for residents seeking city services or information.

“This redesign makes it faster and simpler for residents to connect with city services, stay informed, and engage with their local government,” said Jake Dunn, Public Safety and Communications Coordinator for the City of Blair. “By using the colors and imagery that reflect our schools and community, the site feels more like Blair and truly represents the people who live here.”

Key Updates
• New Website at www.BlairNE.gov – Featuring a modern design that highlights school district colors, community photos, simplified navigation, and improved accessibility to critical information. Visitors who go to www.BlairNebraska.org will be automatically
redirected to the new domain.
• Official Email Transition – City staff email addresses will move from @blairnebraska.org to @blairne.gov following the website launch. During this transition, messages sent to the old addresses will still be delivered to ensure no communication is lost.

Why .gov?
The .gov domain is reserved exclusively for verified U.S. government organizations and is managed by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). By adopting this domain, the City of Blair is providing:
• Enhanced protection against phishing and spoofed emails.
• Greater trust and credibility for residents and businesses.
• A shorter, clearer web and email address that reflects Blair’s identity as a local
government.

“We are proud to join cities across the country in adopting a .gov domain,” said Tom White, IT Director for the City of Blair. “This transition adds another layer of security for our residents and ensures the community can easily recognize official city communications.”

Residents can begin exploring the new website on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, after 5:00 PM
at www.BlairNE.gov.
