FREMONT, Neb. – The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced its 2025 Women’s Soccer Preseason Coaches’ Poll, with Midland University projected to finish eighth. The Warriors will look to build on last season’s conference tournament berth, which came in head coach Keri Heedum’s first year at the helm.

Midland opens the 2025 campaign with back-to-back road contests — August 27 at Benedictine College and August 30 at Dakota State University — before returning to Fremont for the home opener against York University on September 3. This year’s squad will feature a host of new talent, as 20 incoming freshmen and transfers join the program.

Hastings College, the 2024 GPAC regular season and tournament champion, was picked to repeat as league champion with 120 points and 10 of the 12 first-place votes. Concordia University came in second with 108 points and one first-place nod, while Dordt University was third with 97 points and the remaining first-place vote. Morningside University and College of Saint Mary rounded out the top five.

The 2025 GPAC women’s soccer season will feature an 11-game conference schedule, with all 12 teams competing for the conference crown. The league will once again receive two automatic bids to the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Championship, which will be held December 1-8 at the Ashton Brosnaham Soccer Complex in Pensacola, Florida. Opening round matches are set for November 20-22 at campus sites.
