An two-vehicle accident Monday afternoon has claimed the life of a North Bend woman.
Authorities responded to the accident at about 3:23 p.m. on Highway 30 and County Rod 4 — about three miles west of North Bend.
The investigation revealed that a 2014 white Toyota sedan was northbound on County Road 4, when it entered the intersection striking a 2025 red Buick SUV that was eastbound on Highway 30. The Toyota was driven by Marylou Satorie, 90, of North Bend and the Buick was driven by Kay Sieck, 78, of Omaha. Seat belts were in use in both vehicles for all occupants, and air bags did deploy.
Occupants of both vehicles were transported to Methodist Fremont Health by the North Bend Fire Department and Schuyler Fire Department. Satorie later died from her injuries.
Speed and alcohol are not considered factors.
The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Nebraska State Patrol, North Bend Fire Department, Schuyler Fire Department and Saunders County Sheriff’s Office.
