Three Rivers offering shingles vaccine

vaccine-shot

The Three Rivers Public Health Department (3RPHD) is now offering the shingles vaccine at its clinic locations in Fremont, Blair, and Wahoo. Adults aged 50 and older are encouraged to protect themselves against shingles, a painful and potentially serious condition, by getting vaccinated. Three Rivers can bill your insurance for the vaccine.

Shingles, caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus, can lead to a painful rash and long-term nerve complications. The vaccine significantly reduces your risk and is recommended for individuals 50 years of age and older.

“Shingles can be a serious and painful condition,” said Terra Uhing, executive director of the Three Rivers Public Health Department. “We’re proud to offer this vaccine at all of our clinic locations to make access as easy as possible for the communities we serve.”
