Kenneth A. ‘Ken’ Kurzenberger, 78, of Scribner died Sunday, July 20, 2025 at his home, surrounded by his family.

Ken was born April 6, 1947 in Valentine to Kermit and Elsie ‘Steward’ Kurzenberger. He was raised in Ainsworth and grew up and worked on a ranch with his parents. He moved several different places and ended up in Grand Island where he met and married Karen Gipe on February 13, 1977. The couple lived in Kearney then settled in Nickerson. Ken worked at the DeHy in Fremont and Uehling running the alfalfa chopper for more than 20 years. The family then moved to Scribner.

Ken loved to hunt and fish but his family was most important. They loved to go camping, fishing and attend tractor pulls together.

Wife – Karen of Scribner

Children – Nancy Kurzenberger of Scribner

Rebecka (Ben) Lundry of Scribner

Anthony (Tina) Kurzenberger of Fremont

Grandchildren – Dakota and Ethan Lundry, Johnny Kurzenberger, Savanna and Cloe Lundry, Wyatt Kurzenberger, Isabell Satterfield and Morgan Kurzenberger.

Great Grandson – Garyson Lundry

Sister-in-law – Susan Barnes of Arapahoe

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 24, 2025 at the Ludvigsen Mortuary Chapel in Fremont, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Friday, July 25, 2025, also at the chapel in Fremont. Burial will follow in the Scribner Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the family.
