CLEVELAND, Ohio – Final standings of the 2024-25 Learfield Director’s Cup were released this week by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). Midland University placed 27th in the overall standings with 469.0 points.
Midland’s point total results from five finishes in the top 20 (volleyball, women’s swim & dive, men’s indoor track & field, competitive dance, and softball). Scores for 13 sports are used to comprise a school’s final number. Four of those sports must include women’s volleyball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and men’s soccer. The next nine highest scores are used, regardless of gender, for the final standings.
The Warriors saw 12 teams place in their respective NAIA national championship tournaments. In addition to the sports listed above, those championship sports included men’s wrestling, women’s outdoor track & field, and men’s outdoor track & field.
The University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) earned the top spot for the second straight year and was followed by Keiser University (Fla.), Indiana Wesleyan University, Marian University (Ind.), and William Carey University (Miss.).
At the conference level, the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) had six schools in the top 50, led by Doane University at No. 16. Others included Dordt University (35), Concordia University (37), Northwestern College (42), and Morningside University (46).
