FREMONT, Neb. – Midland University has announced its 2025 football schedule, highlighted by a season-opening road trip to face NCAA Division II University of Mary and five home games at Heedum Field.
The Warriors will open their campaign on Thursday, August 28, traveling to Bismarck, North Dakota, for a first-ever meeting with the University of Mary. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. against the Marauders, who went 2-9 last season.
We are excited about opening up the 2025 season at the University of Mary,” said head coach Jeff Jamrog. “As we head into the summer and fall camp, we are placing a strong emphasis on player growth and development. We’re excited about the strong leadership returning from last season, as well as the potential shown by a talented group of newcomers. Their energy and commitment will play a pivotal role in setting the tone for our team moving forward as we work to raise our standard. Our success will depend on our ability to stay focused, block out outside distractions, and commit fully to our process. It’s all about us—our effort, our unity, and our relentless pursuit of improvement.”
Midland will open Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) play on the road at Hastings College on September 6 in the annual Battle for the Watchorn-McLaughlin Trophy. The Warriors have won the last eight of the last nine matchups, including a 26-7 victory last season.
The team returns to Fremont on September 13 for its home opener against Waldorf University. That game marks the first of five home contests this fall, including Homecoming on September 27 versus Doane University and Senior Day on November 15 against Mount Marty University.
Conference heavyweights Morningside (Sept. 20), Dordt (Oct. 25), and Northwestern (Nov. 1) will all provide key road and home challenges. Midland will look to avenge narrow defeats against each of those top GPAC opponents from a season ago.
