Fremont police were dispatched at about 7:03 Wednesday night to the Kwik Shop at 710 North Broad Street for a report of a theft in progress.
Upon arrival, officers conducted an investigation and Edward Gomez of Fremont was arrested and booked for theft by shoplifting, second offense.
