Marlene Marie Preissler, 83, of Fremont passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, June 3, 2025. She was born June 17, 1941, in Hastings to John and Theresa (Kimminau) Wermeskerch.

Marlene graduated from Roseland High School in 1958. In her early years she worked at Allen’s in Hastings. Marlene married Ronald Preissler on July 21, 1962 in Hastings. The couple moved to Fremont in 1965. She worked at Vern’s Flowers and Food 4 Less Floral department after her children were grown.

Marlene was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont and Prairie Piecemakers Quilting Club. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, Bible study and was a volunteer for numerous groups in Fremont.

She is survived by her husband Ronald of Fremont; children, Monica (Tom) Colligan of Omaha, Tim (Tracy) Preissler of Hooper and Julianne (Brent) Windeshausen of Fremont; sister, Kathy Keane of Elkhorn; brothers-in-law, Gerry (Barb) Preissler of Giltner and Don (Myra) Preissler of Omaha; sisters-in-law, Bethine Wermeskerch of Lincoln and Margaret Wermeskerch of Hastings; grandchildren, Jennifer (Andrew) Trevett, Sean Colligan, Joseph (Kelsi-Rae) Preissler, John (Rachel) Preissler, Alec (Ashley) Windeshausen and Zachary (Hailey) Windeshausen; great-grandchildren, Landon and Jordyn Trevett, Timmy, Axxel, Ryker and Adalynn Preissler; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Bob and Roger Wermeskerch; brother-in-law, John Keane; sister-in-law, Patricia Preissler and an unborn great-granddaughter.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 6, 2025, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday followed by a Rosary at 7 all at Moser’s in Fremont. Visitation continues on Friday one hour prior to the service at the church.

Marlene’s family gives a special thank you to the Visiting Angels (Kailyn & Addy) who visited and gave great comfort to Marlene.
