The senior pitched 3.1 innings in relief, before Jalen Worthley and Gavin Blachowicz combined to deal the next 2.1 innings. TJ Coats took the mound in the top of the ninth, retiring the Sooners in order.
Oklahoma took advantage of three NU errors in the top of the first inning to grab an early three-run lead. Consecutive errors and a single had the bases loaded with no outs, while a two-RBI single through the left side made it 2-0. An RBI fielder’s choice added one more to grow the lead to three in the opening frame.
The Sooners poured in six runs on seven hits, highlighted by a home run, a pair of RBI doubles and an RBI triple, to extend the lead to 9-0 in the third inning.
OU added a run in the fourth and plated five more runs in the top of the sixth, before the Huskers scored their lone run of the afternoon in the bottom of the sixth inning.
Silva began the bottom of the sixth with a single to right field, followed by a four-pitch walk to Devin Nunez that had runners on first and second with no outs. Swansen reached on a fielding error to load the bases with one out, setting up Carey’s RBI single to third that brought home Silva.
The Sooners scored two more runs in the top of the eighth with an RBI double and a sacrifice fly to conclude the scoring on Sunday afternoon and advance to the regional final with a 17-1 win over the Huskers in an elimination game.
Nebraska concludes its 2025 season with a 33-29 overall record and its 19th regional appearance in program history. The Huskers also claimed back-to-back Big Ten Tournament titles and reached their third regional in the last five seasons.
